It his third time earning the honor, with the others coming last season after wins against Oklahoma State and Colorado.
READ UPDATE →NATIONAL UPDATEGetting to 10K yards is one thing, doing it without transferring is another He officially broke Nick Foles ' mark in the fourth quarter of Saturday night's 42-17 win over Northern Illinois . However, those former Big 12 QBs did so at a different school than where they began their careers, each transferring into the Big Ten for their final seasons. "So many other people have jumped ship and taken the money or gone to something different, or would look for something new, or the grass is always greener," UA coach Brent Brennan said after Saturday's game. "But that guy stayed here and watered the grass here and made it into something truly special. "The whole country should be talking about this kid, not just based on how he plays, but who he is and the choices he's made throughout his career here. Since 2021, when the NCAA did away with having to sit out a year following a transfer, 46 FBS quarterbacks finished their careers with at least 10,000 passing yards. Of that group, only 22 accomplished this without switching schools, and most were not in power conferences.

The Wildcats defeated the Huskies 42-17, with Arizona quarterback Noah Fifita breaking the school's all-time career passing yards record.
READ UPDATE →NATIONAL UPDATEReport: Arizona football’s roster budget among lowest of power conference programs. Like a lot of things, building a winning college football team has become a lot more expensive in recent years. The emergence of name, image and likeness and revenue sharing has led some university athletic departments to spend tens of millions of dollars on football rosters.

It’s a cliché to say that Arizona was a few plays away from pulling a major upset last week, but sometimes that’s actually the truth. The Wildcats feel like that was the case in their loss at BYU, believing that nearly all of the mistakes made are correctable.
READ UPDATE →NATIONAL UPDATEDuring the 2024 and 2025 seasons, the Pac-12 was only Oregon State and Washington State . The other 10 teams joined the Big 12 ( Arizona, Arizona State , Colorado , Utah ), the Big Ten ( Oregon , USC, UCLA , Washington ) , and the ACC ( Stanford , California ). “I understood the move from USC and UCLA and those schools to the Big 10” Leinart said. “I understood the financial reasons why. And you had to adapt to this new age of college football. It’s still, to this day, we cover the Big 10 and saying USC is part of the Big 10, it will never really feel normal to me.” For the 2026 season (and beyond), Colorado State , Boise State, Fresno State, San Diego State, Texas State , and Utah State joined the Pac-12 for an eight-team conference. Because of these changes, the Pac-12 is not a power conference.
