READ UPDATE →NATIONAL UPDATEThe Hoosiers led 24-6 at halftime over North Texas Saturday, already looking like a team that could easily return to the College Football Playoff . Transfer quarterback Josh Hoover was seven-of-eight passing for 100 yards and two touchdowns while the defense limited North Texas to two field goals, a missed one and a turnover on downs. “The reality is … you’re not going to know if you moved on until Week 7. They’re going to be double digit favorites. They play, as far as talent they play. But the best way to move on, when I’ve had situations like this, your Tuesday and Wednesday practice against each other, because the first two months it’s about getting better. And you won’t know because North Texas is going to play their butts off in the next (half). But reality is across that field, they don’t got what you got.
READ UPDATE →NATIONAL UPDATEPoffenbarger did not travel with the team to Winston-Salem, N. In his place, either sophomore Bradyen Roggow or freshman Cibastian Broughton will make their first career start, a source said. Roggow’s most extensive action last year was in a back-up role, completing 7 of 12 passes for 51 yards in a 51-3 loss to Toledo. Broughton was redshirted last season and did not play. In 2025, Poffenberger was a back-up at North Texas and in 2024 a reserve at Miami . He was a two-year starter at FCS Albany in 2022-23. He began his college career in 2021 at Old Dominion , where he was redshirted. In 2022-23 at FCS Albany, Poffenbarger started 26 games, throwing for 6,613 yards, 60 TDs and 17 interceptions.
