2026 SEC QB1 Rankings For Week 4: Mississippi State’s Kamario Taylor Continues to Rise in NEW Top 10. Similar to the NFL, a talented quarterback can turn a college football program into a playoff contender.
READ UPDATE →NATIONAL UPDATESeemingly every week, the former Alabama head coach and now ESPN Another rendition of praise came on Friday, coming away quite impressed with Taylor’s demeanor during the South Carolina win. “And this Kamari Taylor guy is like, ‘You know, s*** happens,” and just keeps playing. They take the game over on the road in a difficult place to play. And this guy is a young quarterback — I know he’s not a freshman. Because you’re going to get criticized more at this position, you’re going to get more credit at this position. You’ve got to deal with ups and downs more at this position. Young guys sometimes can do that, sometimes they struggle with that.”
READ UPDATE →NATIONAL UPDATEHe’s even caught the attention of several notable alumni. That includes Kansas City Chiefs star defensive tackle Chris Jones , who is pledging to do whatever it takes to keep the dual-threat Taylor in Starkville amid speculation he’ll be a hot commodity in the transfer portal next January. That includes making a significant donation to his alma mater’s NIL budget. “I’m going to donate some (NIL), though, we’ve got to keep this quarterback — we’ve got to keep him around,” Jones told reporters Thursday in Kansas City . “I think we have one of the best the FBS right now, he’s doing really, really well for us, and he’s young,” Jones added. “We just have to keep him on our roster, because the NIL has changed everything. … Definitely believe in our guys, got a lot of belief in Mississippi State right now and KT.”
