- Use an actual, accurately identified photograph when an article centers on a named player or coach.
- Confirm the team, uniform, season and event represented by the image.
- Keep the original source page, creator, license or permission record with the asset.
- Display a visible credit when the license, permission or editorial agreement requires it.
- Do not remove watermarks or crop an image in a way that changes its factual meaning.
ACCEPTABLE SOURCES
Acceptable sources may include owner-provided photography, explicitly licensed agency photography, public-domain collections, Creative Commons material used within its license, and official school or conference media made available with terms that permit the intended editorial use. A publicly accessible image is not automatically free to republish.
Flickr photography is used through Flickr’s official embed and backlink format only when the listed license permits StatTake’s intended use or the rights holder has given direct permission. Full source and rights details remain available through the compact Photo details control attached to the image.
LOGOS AND TRADEMARKS
Team and conference marks are used for identification and navigation. Ownership remains with the respective institutions or organizations. Logos should not imply sponsorship, partnership or endorsement.
AI AND MANIPULATION
StatTake does not publish AI-generated or AI-edited editorial photos unless the owner approves the specific use and the image is clearly labeled as an illustration. AI imagery cannot be used as a deceptive substitute for a real player, team, uniform or event.
