Western KentuckyIn the midst of a Western Kentucky drive in the fourth quarter, Upchurch appeared to have taken a hit to his helmet that immediately dropped him to the ground at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana . He spent an extended amount of time on the ground as he was being tended to by the medical staff.

"They removed (Upchurch's) shoulder pads and his undershirt and then brought out a neck brace," the Peacock broadcast said. "They have now put (it) around his neck.
They are getting the stretcher ready there as you can see. Did appear he took a blow to the head as he was standing up and he just kind of rocked down to the turf and it's been several minutes now."
