“Arch will go first overall just because he’s a Manning and the blue blood flows through his veins,” Bayless said during Friday’s episode of First Take on ESPN. “… And yet Trinidad Chambliss, the kid from nowhere, unrecruited out of high school, went to Ferris State for (a few) years, my God.
He’s more poised, more accurate, and has a much better clutch gene, to me, than Arch has displayed. I’m going with Trinidad Chambliss as my first overall pick.”
Skip Bayless made his return to the ESPN airwaves on Friday's First Take and immediately took Texas quarterback Arch Manning to task. And while most Texas fans might squabble over Bayless’ criticism of Arch Manning’s “clutch gene” — especially after he led the Horns’ 21-point comeback in Week 2’s 24-23 victory over former No. 1 Ohio State — it’s hard to argue Chambliss is also undeserving of being the top overall pick in April.
