Louisiana single-game passing touchdown record broken by surprising QB.
LouisianaGrace was in just his second start for the Cajuns following a season-opening loss. Grace is in his first year as a starter for the program and this was just his second game starting.
With the nine touchdown passes, he broke the record of eight that was once held between Evangel Christian Academy quarterbacks Dez Duron (2005-2008) and current LSU four-star commit Peyton Houston. Grace started off on a tear, throwing four touchdown passes in the first quarter alone and by halftime, he had six.
He broke the record with 3:15 remaining in the game on a 29-yard touchdown strike to Colin Snyder. In the win, Grace connected with five different receivers for touchdowns.
"We came off a tough loss last week, so that kind of fueled us this week," Grace is quoted in the report. I didn't know it was a state record until I came off (the field) after the last touchdown."
