South opened the scoring with a Braxton Evans 10-yard touchdown pass to Leonidas Wall. On the Eagles' next possession, a fumble was recovered by Ladd Hampton to get the ball back to South.
With 4:01 left on the first quarter clock, South's Krystian Rigby scored on a 33-yard run to push the lead to 14-0. Evans connected with Kaiden Asche for a 20-yard touchdown to increase the lead to 21-0 with 7:52 to play in the second quarter.
Four minutes later, Rigby scored on a 1-yard run and South led 28-0. With 1:14 to play in the half, Evans found Aidan Bryant for the 35-yard touchdown to send the Cougars to the half with a 35-0 lead.
