This will be the seventh season of college football for Johnson, 25, who has also been QB1 at LSU , Texas A&M and North Carolina . He brings a proven track record to coach Clay Helton's team in the Sun Belt Conference, as he has thrown for 6,355 yards and 49 touchdowns since arriving at LSU in 2020.
Johnson, who transferred to Texas A&M in 2022 and to UNC in 2024, has made 24 starts and 35 total appearances during his college career.
