Defensive coordinator Danny Gonzales felt Arizona played "absolutely outstanding" until midway through the fourth quarter. That's when, after coming up short on 4 th down in the red zone, a big play by BYU's offense flipped the field and it went up two scores not long after.
"If we're going to be elite, we go out there and get a three and out," Gonzales said. It was the second year in a row Arizona couldn't finish against BYU, having squandered a 10-point lead in the 4 th in 2025 before falling in 2025.
